Last post of the blogathon

Like all good things, this blogathon has also come to an end. Today is the last day of a month long blogathon and by any standards it was not an easy task churning out a post everyday. Most of the days, I had an idea in my mind but there were few days when I just did not know what to write. Then, there were days when I was not in a frame of mind to write. But, a promise is a promise and should not be broken!

A big thanks to everyone who read and commented (to those also who read and did not comment!).

My personal favourite from my first blogathon are-

What keeps this blog going (secret exposed!)

Friends Forever

To Stay or To Stray

There are two kinds of People

(though I would love to know, which ones did you like the most!)

Now that I have written continuously for a month, I am taking a few days break ( a much needed one). But you can be assured that I will be back.

I have a relationship with writing and this relationship is for keeps. And I don't walk off from such relationships so easily :)

Friends Forever

Life is indeed very sweet when you have friends around. Sometimes in our mechanical lives, we tend to not exactly forget, but give our friendships a backseat. It was the same case with me till I met my closest (also oldest) friend, Sirisha at a friend's wedding in Vizag last week.

She and I have been the closest of friends since class 7. She was a class topper and had has a fab memory. We have shared secrets, books, lunch boxes, sometimes clothes too (I know, she is going to kill me for writing this, but the kurti I am wearing in this picture is hers. An angel that she is, has always helped me!). Ohh, it will take a whole book to write about this!

She has kept in touch with me, in various phases of our lives. Our childhood crushes, the last minute rush before the exams, 5 am phone calls and the unexplained phone bills, college romance, break-ups, career moves and what not. There are times when we don't speak to each other for months. But then when we get talking, neither of us feel the long gap we had. We just begin from where we left!

I was meeting her after almost 12 years. I am so happy and content as I write this. The joy of meeting each other is evident on our faces :)

Read this somewhere and agree on this completely-

HUNDREDTH POST: RECAP OF 99 POSTS

This post is special, rather very special. Why? Because, this is my HUNDREDTH POST!! Yeah, unbelievable but true..100th post. When I started this blog, I wondered if I would be able to write more than five posts, and also who is going to read it anyway?

This post is actually a recap of the past 99 posts. I would like to link posts for various categories:

1. Most beautiful post: No Sene, I know, but it is true. It is actually a tribute to the people I love the most.

2. Most popular post: To stay or to stray. It indeed is tough for me to judge my posts, but I did get loads of feedback on this one.

3. Most controversial post: Marriage: Loss of freedom?. To the extent, people told me I should not be commenting and preaching on marital issues. But then, I do have the freedom to write anything on my blog, atleast!

4. Most helpful post:  Aren't all my posts helpful ;)? But if I have to choose one, Sometimes, friends do walk away.

5. A post whose success surprised you: When I look back, I find it amazing the number of hits The Tough Part has got.

6. A post that  didn't get the attention it deserved: I really find this one tough to answer. But if I have to pick one, Prickers.

7. Post you are most proud of: I am proud of all my posts (I know, such vain effort!). But if I have to pick one, All I Want.

While I write this 100th post, a big thanks to all the readers. Thank You so very much!!

Easiest Meme :)

This, so far is the easiest meme I ever did :) Try this and let me know if you find it easy too.

1. Among the people, you know well, who would you nominate for sainthood?

Rishi, of course. For the simple reason, that he does not have even an iota of negativity and also I believe, names do have an impact on our personality (Rishi= Saint!)

2. What is the strongest opinion you hold?

Honesty is and will always be the best policy! (Tried & Tested, you see ;))

3. What sport do you wish was never invented?

None, for the very reason that its not the sport, it is the sportsman spirit that matter and if one does not have that, sport is not to be blamed. Also, sports is the easiest and most fun way to be fit.

4. Show and Tell. What comes to mind when you see this picture? Or, tell a story of it reminds you of one.

Opposites attract!

Being STRONG

Sometimes, being strong is the only choice. And then you realise, it was indeed the best choice.

Every part of my body churned in pain
Every day I was spinning again and again

It's gone away, this time for real
It's gone away, and it is a sealed deal.

It is not a sudden realisation
It is the end of my tryst with expectations.

I have cried out in despair
God gave me enough strength when you were unfair.

You made me bitter, but I won't blame you
My bitterness is mine, just like me, it is true.

Just a little more strength needed
To move on, and not stop when our paths meet.

LOVE, EGO & HATE

Alone she stands
Looking hard to find
The lost laughter, bits of life
Lost far behind.

In his ego he poked
In her bare heart
But such was his misery
He still could not feel the whole.

Strange was this game of fate
With so much love in their hearts
It even amazed God of emotions
Why he created- love, ego & hate.

Lessons from Chikni Chameli

Before you start day-dreaming about Katrina Kaif (again), click on the link below to see the making of Chikni Chameli.

Now, click on the next video to see the final product

The song, promoted as an item number is already a super hit and according to latest information, is doing wonders at both rural and urban places. Katrina Kaif, promises to set the screen on fire with this number.

From Shiela Ki Jawani to Chikni Chameli, Katrina Kaif has surely come a long way. Any investment in Katrina Kaif for an item song is bound to get awesome returns.

The fate of Tees Maar Khan and Shiela Ki Jawani proves the point.

Another element in Chikni Chameli is Shreya Goshal, who till now, was known for her soulful songs (except for Ooh La La, from The Dirty Picture). Her superb melodious voice gels with Katrina's moves so well that it is hard to believe that Shreya Goshal is the same singer who sang Teri Ore (Singh is King), which by the way, was also picturised on Katrina Kaif!

So what do we learn from Chikni Chameli song?
  1. Never shy away from business. It will always give you good returns. Ideal example- Katrina Kaif
  2. You never know what your potential is till you explore yourself. Challenge yourself and exceed your expectations. Ideal example- Shreya Goshal
  3. Success stories are not built in a day. Practice, Preparation and Patience go a long way. Ideal example- Chikni Chameli song.
Now even after reading this post, the 'lessons' from Chikni Chameli has not got inside your head yet, and Chikni Chameli is still playing on your mind (I don't blame you, the song is really good!!) , click on the second video link.

Sometimes, leaving is the only choice

There comes a time in everyone's life when everything around seems useless and you don't care what is happening around you, or even to you. Everyone tells you to be strong because this is just a hurdle and being strong will make you tough for the tougher road ahead. But it is not that easy. The jump that you take to overcome the hurdle lands you to a pit, a blacker pit.

They say- it is about the choices you make in life. But sometimes choices are the ones that lead you to darkness and you don't seem to trust anyone, least of all, your own self.

At this time, you don't have to hold yourself. Just leave it. When the winds will turn around, which they eventually will, things will fall into place, all by itself. When you can not trust anyone else, not even yourself, just leave it.

When you are confused about your judgments and tired of spinning around, just leave it.

Sometimes, leaving is the only choice.

In the end, everything becomes perfect. And if it is not perfect, it is yet not the end.

Life= Decisions (Right+ Wrong)

How do you get to know if you are making the right decision before making it?

I have been thinking of this question for sometime now, and all I can answer is- 'You never know'.  After all, unless you see the result of the decision you made, you will never know whether it was good or bad. And come to think of it, even then, who is to say?

For example, sometimes, I feel exhausted after a long day at work and do not feel like cooking. If I am alone at home, then cooking just for myself is out of question. I, at that time, depending on my mood, decide what to eat, if to eat. If it is a good decision or not, I really don't know.

With some decisions in my life, I have made a list of pros and cons. Still, it is a risk. And since we do not have an option of peek-a-boo into our future lives, there is always a risk in any decision we take.

In retrospection, we get to know if we have made a good decision or not. Having said that, sometimes a supposed bad decision can teach us a lot. Or alternatively, a bad decision can lead us somewhere else. Through a bad decision, we get to meet people (wrong people), who might help us later. They help us grow and obtain useful, practical qualities.

It is scary, I know.

Only time will tell whether the decision taken was worthwhile or not.

Until then, we all have to live.

And as for now, I am back to cooking because I have decided I will not order food from outside like last night!

One second wasted (Wordless Post Part 4)

All of a sudden, I realised may be it's just me, who is stuck here, while everyone has moved on.

Just a Wordless Post today

Life is also slipping away. Unlike the hourglass, life and time will not reverse.

The world is not going to stop over your grief.

If wishes were horses

I have two types of wishes. First are those which resemble the weekly shopping lists of Ambani, Khan, Bachchan and Roshan wives. This wish consists of:

  • Withdrawing millions of dollars per week
  • Change for a note of 10,000 dollar
  • 5 Mansions, with 20 floors each
  • Charity, for press

If these wishes are fulfilled, I will  be behind the bars because of privacy infringement. Tomorrow's newspaper headline will read:

' Young, pretty, blogger sued for million dollars by the rich and famous for publishing private diary entries. Forced to close the blog.'

I can part with million dollars but with blog, NEVER. It is too precious!

That brings me to the second category of unfilled wishes. These are those wishes are innate to you, your inherent being. I am putting down my list of unfilled wishes, just to remind God what all He has to grant me :)

  • I wish I have more acceptance and the ability to let things go. Seriously, this is something that I need badly. I am a sucker for people in my life and I find it really hard when things and people change. I find it tough to get over it and end up punishing myself :( Letting go is a lesson life taught me many times but it is the toughest lesson..still have not mastered this art.
  • I wish I could catch lies. I have been misled by lies. Imagine this, I find it believable when my maid in a grim voice-'my daughter was unwell..so I could not come yesterday'. I remind myself later when she is gone that her daughter does not even live in this city! Yes, you might say that I got to be more smart in life. This is exactly what I want- smartly catching lies.
  • I wish I could sleep properly. Not that I am sleep deprived, but everyone keeps telling me I should sleep more than 3-4 hours everyday. I know they are right and I got to take care of my health..so that is why, just asking for some more sleep.
So that's it. Hope God is reading my blog, if not my mind!

Am I looking fat?

A Typical Scene:

Your wife dresses up for an occasion, looks at herself in the mirror, turns to you and ask the dreaded question- 'Does this make me look fat?"

What do you say then? 'Yes' is obviously the wrong answer and 'No' also seems wrong as it is a dishonest one, considering her concerns about her appearance.

Men usually complain that women are hard to understand. They say we ask trick questions, play mind games and add drama. Agreed, weight can be a 'touchy' topic for most women. So, if you guys want to avoid frustation, answer it tactfully, also truthfully (got to be true to the one you love!)

If your wife (or girlfriend) asks you if she looks fat in a dress, that is not what she wants to know. She knows it well when her dress has shrunk. She also knows when she is not the same size when you first met and/or dated her. There are only two reasons why a woman asks something that she anyway know:

  1. She is trying to start a fight, or
  2. She is getting insecure about your love for her.
Your job is to decide which is her motivation of asking this trick question. Most likely it will be the second option.  So I will focus my post on that one.

Generally when a woman asks if she is looking fat, it is not that she is asking for a fashion advice. She generally means- 'Am I attractive to you?'. So the right answer is not to comment on her appearance, to discourage or encourage her. The right answer would come from the understanding why on earth would she ask such a horrible question.

So when your answer to her insecurities is 'Yes. You still are most important to me', then this is the best time to shower her compliments and make her day (thereby yours too ;)) And come to think of it, who does not like to listen to good things about oneself. This really has nothing to do with gender, least to say.

Men, never underestimate the power of a well- timed compliment.

Sometimes, getting along with women really is that easy.

Silence in the blogothon

Some days are really strange. There is so much going on in mind, but you are just not able to express it. As a blogothon promise, I know, I should have written a post by now. I tried in the morning, sometime in evening too. But I just could not write. Trust me, for me, it is not very difficult to express what I feel. But sometimes, even I fall short of words.

Does it happen to you too that when you try to do something, something altogether different happens? Do you too feel that sometimes, there is something you want but are not able to do so...?

This post might not excite you as a reader, but as I write this, I would like to remember this day as one where emotions overtook words.

There is a strange silence I am experiencing today. I hope tomorrow will be a new day, a better one. Amen!

Let it be

Somethings are never gonna get better
And I have learnt it, almost
I know all the reasoning
I know how I am supposed to feel
But for now
Let it be.

I don't need that sympathy
I don't need your apathy
I don't want to learn it this way
But now that I have learnt
All I want is
Let it be.

I have read the spiritual and other good stuff
That tell me time will make it heal
It doesn't make me feel any better
It doesn't make me happy either
So for now
Let it be.

I don't want to move on
I want to stay on
But I know the truth
Nothing is going to change
So for now
Let it be.

I have tried and tried again to fight all the negativity
I have prayed and prayed again to get the strength
I have wished again and again for life to be better
I have been spinning again and again with a hope
Now I know, I have to
Let it be.

Nothing is going to improve
It is sad but a true thing
I can't say anymore
There's already so much said before
All I can hope for now is to
Let it be.

I am not best at goodbyes
I am not good at all
So while we drift apart
With a void in my life and heart
Let's for now
Let it be.

May be

Dreams shattered but still flying high
Like a kite
May be.
Rays, so bright
Sun rising or setting

May be.

Wordless Post Part 3

Today is again a Wordless Post Day.

Ever wondered, if God ever cries?

There are two kinds of People

Remember the TV show- Office Office. There was a character in it who always used to say, 'If you do this, two things can happen to you. This or that...' I just don't seem to remember his name right now. Why I am mentioning him today is because this post is kinda inspired by his philosophy.

There are two kinds of people in this world. The first ones, who think before they speak and always say politically correct things. The second ones, who do not think but speak the truth and are very funny (most of the times!)

There are two kinds of people in this world. The first ones, whose wardrobes are neatly organized (it's winter time- summer clothes are properly wrapped and put away). The second ones, whose wardrobes are stuffed and overflowing (not because of the excess clothes, though!) with colourful outflow, just like their lives!

There are two kinds of people in this world. The first ones, never misplace car or house keys. The second ones, take an average of five minutes to find them.

There are two kinds of people in this world. The first ones, plan what they are having for food and plan the required ingredients. The second one, open the fridge and rustle up a quick meal.

There are two kinds of people in this world. The first ones, who find it very tough to laugh. The second one, find it tough to stop laughing.

There are two kinds of people in this world. The first ones, care about what people say and plan their lives and actions accordingly. The second ones, have a devil-may-care attitude.

There are two kinds of people in this world. The first ones, are mature and planned. The second ones, may look immature. But they know how to have fun in life.

There are two kinds of people in this world. The first ones, are proper, meticulous and organized. The second ones, well..are just like me!

I can write a lot more on this, but you got the point, right?

SPINNING AGAIN AND AGAIN, AND YET AGAIN

And then suddenly I realised
I gave you too much
Yes, way too much
And you threw it away

It happened again
And again, and again one more time
I again gave you a chance
Chances and chances, till I forgot the count

Why I did that, I ask?
It looked okay at first
I knew what I wanted
And I ran back to you anyway

Then came the last words you said
I don't know why I felt that way
And then I understood, it wasn't you
I was the one who needed to end

TO STAY OR TO STRAY

A friend asked me once- 'Is it okay to have an affair, if you are married?' My mind instantly said- 'NO, NEVER.' The conversation ended there. My reaction to my friend's question was what majority of us would say.  But then, come to think of it, we have only one life to live. So in this one life, how important is to strive for happiness? Also, if you do your 'duties' as a spouse and it still does not make you happy, would you be 'wrong' if you look for happiness elsewhere? If your soul is not happy, will it not rot and stinge? And finally, what to do if the 'affair' is the only solution to your happiness?

An affair, just like a marriage, is also a relationship. Like marriage, it comes with its set of 'dos' and 'don'ts'. Now if the 'conditional' affair gives you happiness or not, is a choice that you take. The 'only' saviour situation I can think in a 'conditional' affair is that if the spouse does not know of the affair. One can 'always' go back to the marriage if the affair does not work out- the same marriage outside of which one was finding happiness!

I am not moral policing here. I just feel every relationship goes through phases. Growing apart and being disconnected from each other is also a phase in a committed relationship. How you deal with each phase determines your relationship, and in a way, your 'happiness' too. Also, as adults we are responsible for our choices- our choice of having an affair and the choice of the person with whom to have an affair.

Daily living takes its toll. Many succumb. It is only human to do so. It is their life and their choice too. And more than anything else, everyone has 'their' own reasons to do what they do and making their life what they want it to be.

Like what I have always believed, 'If you are happy, may it stay that way. If you are not, may be it is time to think'.

Happiness

I hope you guys are liking the blogothon. I am finding this exercise very challenging and exciting. It is something I have never done and I don't know if I will muster the courage to do it again because whatever said and done, it is not an easy thing. But then, nothing in life comes easy; least of all a blogothon!

Couple of days back, I wrote a poem on Sadness. I was in a sad state of mind that day. It rained next day and like always, rain brought a change in my life. It is a fact that every time it rains, something in my life changes. After it rained, just like the weather, the clouds in my life disappeared too and I could clearly see the rainbow. I could see that people who stay with me as the storm passes are my own. And the ones who chose to go away and come back as per their own convenience do not deserve to see the rainbow of my life (I don't know if there is any such term as rainbow of life, right now it just means sharing my life).

Happiness is bright shining, smiling face
Happiness is the peace and love
Happiness is the deep midnight conversation
Happiness is the meaningless chat
Happiness is a close friend close by
Happiness is to need and be needed
Happiness is to help and be helped
Happiness is the perfect world that exists in me
Happiness is to see the world through You
Happiness is YOU!

A heartfelt thanks to all my friends who have loved and supported me. Sometimes knowingly, sometimes unknowingly, you did help me!

Update on brownie and sprout salad- Dad liked the brownie. He liked it so much that ate it with evening coffee and as dessert too. Rishi enjoyed  the salad. Secret ingredient in the salad- Grated Ginger :) The extra spice did the trick for him.

Food Comfort

By any standards, I am not a foodie (good or bad, depends how you look at it). I do not have favourites in food items.Nor do I visit exotic places for food. When I go out for eating, first thing I notice is the ambience and then the food available there.

With food, my philosophy is simple- I eat to live, not live to eat. Yeah, I am so boring that ways. But then, I am very passionate about my health. Weekends are different though, as I am on a binging spree over weekends. I somehow equalise what I miss on five days by eating good (also healthy) food on Saturdays and Sundays.

Today, I decided to make a brownie cake for my father and Rishi (since Mom is not around, I donned the chef cap!). I really don't know how will they react to the brownie cake, considering both of them are big time foodies and can tell you the ingredients of a dish just by having a look.

I am posting a picture of the cake. I will tell you tomorrow, how they reacted to it :)

I also made sprout salad, thinking of brownie's calorie value and sprout salad's nutrition value ;)

Take care of whatever you eat. That way you will take care of your life.
You just have one life to live.

WHERE IS THE TIME?

People ask me, why do I blog and where do I get the time to write? Mostly, both the questions are asked together. For the first one, I love to write.  (click on the highlighted link to read a detailed post on my long affair with writing). As far as time is concerned, there are 24 hours in a day and even if I exclude, 8 hours of sleep, one would still be left with 16 hours. Excluding two hours for other activities, 14 hours are still in the kitty, which is a LOT of time to do a LOT of things.

In my case, I exclude 11 hours for work, include travelling time. Sometimes, work does get on to me, but 11 hours is a good average in my case. 6-7 hours is the maximum I need to give to my bed. There are times, when I sleep just for 2 or 3 hours too (if I am writing or reading). Also, I try not to contain a thought because if I don't pen it down then and there, it just goes. This happens mostly with my poetry.

There are few things that I follow, which can give answer where do I get the time to write:

  1. NO TELEVISION- Okay, let's modify it to very less television at home. The only thing I watch on TV is music channels and the only time I watch TV is when I am in kitchen or while having food. Rishi watches a lot of news and of course, cricket. So that much television is enough for me to know the happenings of the world.
  2. NO FIXED ROUTINE- Mine is a taxing job, but it is not a regular 9 to 5 one. So, it gives me decent amount of time to plan things.
  3. RARE PHONE CALLS- Except for my family, I hardly spend time over the phone. Also, I have learnt the art of multitasking. While I speak over the phone, I also do the dusting or put laundry to washing.
  4. ORGANISE- I am not a champ in this. But still, I like to organise things so that they do not demand too much time too soon. I would prefer to give 20 minutes to dusting daily rather than 2 hours every third day. Same goes for cooking. If I have to make paranthas, I ensure that dough is ready and so is the masala.
  5. CONCENTRATION- No matter what you do- writing, managing home, working on a deadline, intense concentration and focus is needed. If I am writing something, it takes a very strong reason for me to get off it before it is finished!
  6. RISHI, the support system- HE is the reason, strength, support for all my writing. There are times when he sees me writing something, he just hold the fort down completely and give me my space and time. Specially on Sundays, he takes over the kitchen.

This is really all that I do. I am sure these are no 'big secrets' and this is what most of the people running a home would be doing. If you have any more such tip, let me know.

More than anything else, writing is my solace for everything I go through in life. It is a bright thing that gives me hope, specially when you all read what I write. It makes me believe in the goodness and happy things of life, a rarity these days. For these reasons, I will always find ways to write.

HAPPY READING!!

Sadness

Sadness is when you don't sleep because the dreams will haunt you
Sadness is when you wake up and realise the dream still continues
Sadness is when you can not stop thinking, knowing that there is no solution
Sadness is when you know it is impossible, but you hope otherwise
Sadness is when nothing else matters
Sadness is when you wish to go that extra mile, knowing it will hurt you
Sadness is a permanently empty place in your heart
Sadness is a continuous haunting pain
Sadness is feeling the same pain even after eternity
Sadness is the lump in your throat when you hear that name
Sadness is a longing that can never be
Sadness is when you want to start again, but can't
Sadness is when you want to die, but have to live.

Perfection

I just came across an article on Mr. Perfect. Alright, I might be in a lovey-dovey mood but let's  be practical here. Claiming that there is no Mr. Perfect, just makes the writer of this article not just imperfect but also insensitive. Do you know anyone who is perfect here- forget the gender, as a person, anyone who does not have a flaw?

I am a complete feminist. I hate when people doubt a woman's capability to do something that is not expected  from the fairer sex. But stuff like these that doubt the characteristics of an individual is equally frustrating. It is okay to read this article as fun element, but the reasons why there is no Mr. Perfect given here are frivolous. The top 20 imperfections in men given in the article are:

1. Not getting on with her family
2. Using her toothbrush
3. Leaving the toilet dirty
4. Hating her friends
5. Not being good with children
6. Being lazy
7. Having a big bushy beard that you never shave
8. Leaving nail clippings out
9. Driving like a boy racer
10. Being a grumpy
11. Being a mummy's boy
12. Using the toilet with the door open
13. Leaving dirty washing on the floor
14. Unkempt facial hair
15. Criticising her driving
16. Burping or farting
17. Not liking dogs
18. Not helping with washing up
19. Watching too much sport
20. Not helping with cooking

Okay, now anyone you know, regardless of the gender, who does not have even one of these so called imperfections? The funniest ones are being a mummy's boy, being lazy and not getting on with her family.

It is perfectly alright if you want your child to be a total Mumma's baby, even when he grows up, but it is tough to see your man like that!
Laziness is a trait that has nothing to do with gender.

Getting on with other's family is again not gender based. In fact, most of the women I know find it hard to adjust to the guy's family.

But then, I guess we all have our share of imperfections. Can you imagine relating yourself to a perfect person, with your share of imperfections? We adapt to certain imperfections and find beauty in that too- love can indeed do wonders. Just like, Rishi had adjusted to my constant nagging of keeping the things tidy. And I have adjusted to his 'having a cup of tea' reasons. May be it is my positivity that I call these imperfections adjustments. In any case, I find 'imperfections' the spice of life, ruled by daily routine mundane activities.

To me, my best is not perfect, but diverse, uniquely beautiful. It is so worthy of every good thing. Knowing that I can't be perfect, frees me to just be.

His and Her

Yet again, they fought
Both of them in their own worlds
Looking for answers
Him and Her, again they fought.

His words like arrogance
That killed Her smile again
Looking for solutions
Her smile, and His arrogance.

Together they started a journey
What could have been beautiful
Looking for happiness
Her happiness was never His journey.

Today both living away
What they both don't deserve
Such was the arrogance that killed her smile,
Her acceptance versus His arrogance.

Blogathon Post 1- Writing & ME

This post is special. Because this is the first time I am venturing into Blog-Marathon (Blogathon) which aims at one post daily for a month. As a child, I have taken part in sprints but this marathon is the first of its kinds.

Blogging happened some 75 days back (memory- keeper, that I am!). I had no idea I would be able to see even 10 posts. I used to write a lot in school and college, but as I grew, writing became secondary to me. I got back to writing to ease out the tough times I was going through sometime back. It turned out to be therapeutic for me.

One blog which I read regularly is Agne's. I absolutely love the splendid pictures she takes. Apart from that, I love the honesty and sincerity with which she writes her posts. One look at her posts and you would not be able to say what a huge personal tragedy she is coping up with. I do not know her personally but the support she receives on her blog is phenomenal.

For me, this is what writing and blogging all about. It is getting a 'Oh my God, really?' feeling when someone tells me they are reading and liking my posts and are able to relate themselves with my words, or the feeling of gratitude when people ask why have I not written a post in two days. For these reasons and some more, I will never stop writing.

I hope, you too will never stop reading my writing! Thanks for all the love!!

Current mood song- Hotel California. Love the last part: 'You can check out any time but you can never leave!' In a weird way, related to blogathon- You can start any time, but you can not break the promise! ;)

As 2012 begins

1 January, 2012. There is something fresh about the new year and it is not this new year I am talking about. I have always felt a childish optimism, year after year, every first of January. Whatever 'new start' you want to give to your life, can be done any day of the year. Still there is some excitement, anticipation and happiness associated with first January. May be that is why, even the facebook homepage is loaded with all kinds of positive messages.

As December passes and January rolls in, everybody start making plans and resolutions for next year. Like everyone, I too have made some. But unlike the popular perception- 'Resolutions are meant to be broken', mine will not be. So while I welcome the new year, I promise, a true promise, that in 2012:

  • I will have 208 days of yoga for me (boils down to 4 days a week).
  • Coffee intake will be restrained (just 2-3 cups a day).
  • I will steer my life (gently), prod it (softly), look for answers (without being demanding) and will ensure that it should turn out to be the best in the end.
  • I will be more accepting to changes.

Here is wishing good luck to myself and to all of you for achieving your goals. And yes, I shall be true and honest in updating the status of these resolutions too :)

Like I promised, my present mood song is here
