A world of their own

A stone in her heart
And discomfort in her eyes
She made a promise
Never ever to see him again

Amused at her own self
Cocooned in her own world
But missing him deeply
She tries a lot, to cover up the pain

Such is a situation
They both have created
He didn't, but she tried
She tried with her heart, though in vain

Burning silently, craving badly
Yet doing nothing
Trapped in confused destinies
Both deprived, longing for a world of their own.

Thursday Challenge Part 2

Here comes another Thursday and here comes Thursday Challenge Part 2. I was so excited about it and was up till late last night (despite the fact that I had to reach office early, and by early I mean 5 AM!) thinking which secret should I share this time. Although there is a lot that I can write about, but to pick one was the hard task.

Phew, here it is.

All my family members and friends know I don't know how to drape a saree and how much I dread wearing one on certain occasions. Not that it has got anything to do with marriage, (considering these days, even unmarried girls know how to drape one) my mother keeps telling me I should know how to drape it myself. Whenever there is an occasion where there is no escapism to saree- wearing, my mind start wondering whose help I need this time- mother, mother-in-law, cousins, friends or beauty parlour!

But that is NOT the secret. The secret is, no matter how much I detest wearing a saree or learning how to drape it, I still love to see myself in a saree. And I know, I am blushing while I write this ;)

One of the biggest reasons, I like to see myself in a saree is because I have got the best compliments when I wear one. It is a typical case of 'Oh, It is such a pain draping a saree, but hey thanks for saying that I am looking good'. The best one came from Rishi. He told me once, you look good in whatever you wear but love the way you carry yourself in a saree, despite being uncomfortable in it.

Posting a recent picture of me in saree (wink!)

Just a thought- I got my resolution for 2012. I will learn how to drape a saree :):)

How...Till how long

How many days, how many nights will pass by
Till we continue living incomplete lives
How many times will glances shy
Till we laugh together and smile

How many times will my hopes end
Till  how long life will pretend
How many times will you pass me by
Until I find U again.

Appendum- Usually, my poetry is dark and sad, as compared to the other stuff I write. Mostly I write what I feel. It is sometimes, when some expressions just come to my mind and I put them together.
PS- Tomorrow is going to be Thursday Challenge Part 2. I am already excited about sharing my second secret ;)

Prickers

The more I think about it, the more I am convinced that there are some people who get happiness, may be satisfaction by putting others down. It gives them a certain sadistic pleasure and a strange sense of superiority complex. This is because they suffer from a syndrome- 'inadequate syndrome'. By any means, this complex term does not make their actions justifiable or condanable.

I call these people 'Prickers'.

Very smartly and cleverly they disguise their actions and makes you wonder what they said or did was in good humour. If you ever talk about it to them, they will brush it off, saying it was not meant to hurt you and that you are over- reacting.

I have had people who uninvitedly talk about personal topics and then will for sure say something which is touchy. These 'prickers' more often than not discourage when you do something new, calling it 'ohh that...' It happens with all of us and it does make you feel, well- pricked!

The truth is that it leaves me feel a little unhappy, little less than I was. Even if the remarks are well- meant, still they are not needed, for what they made me feel. Thank you, but seriously not needed. I would seriously not have these well meant remarks. I mind my own business and hope for the sanity of this world, these prickers also mind theirs'. Till then I am coating myself with an anti- deflatory self!

ADVICE- WHO NEEDS IT ANYWAY?

Is it possible to be happy all the time? Is it possible that you never feel hurt, angry, frustated, annoyed, upset, resentful, specially when things don't go the way you plan? How do you manage to smile and be 'positive'? How do you not crib and accept things and move on?

People do ask me these questions, specially when they read my posts on positivity and hope.

To all of them, and also to those who are going through such dilemma: I too feel dark emotions. Ofcourse, I have my share of sadness..sadness that you can't decipher. I had friends who for their own selfish reasons left me when I needed them the most, people have been nasty and mean to me and I have been heart broken too! And I am neither the smiling Mc Donalds' clown nor the Laughing Buddha, that I always keep smiling!

It is indeed natural and okay to feel down when life acts funny with you. It is indeed alright to take time to recover from the blow.

But there are some people who call my posts insincere. That is disturbing. I never pretend to be what I am not and my Honesty is something I am very proud of.

The fact is, it is we (it applies to all of us) who project our expectations on to people. Then we feel hurt and disappointed that they did not match it up. We tend to forget that they are surely entitled to their own feelings of joy, happiness, anguish or anything else. They are also entitled to express it in any form as long as it is not harmful to you. It aptly applies to my blog.

I believe that negativity and unsolicited advice is one of the biggest killer of your time and energy. It is just useless and it gets you down too. If you are a giver of such advice, I guess you should introspect as to why giving that advice makes you feel better. If you are a taker of such advice, just brush it off and move on. It is not worth your time (not even thinking about it) .

So do the things that you want to do, no matter what others say or do, no matter however close they are to you. They can never be you. Nor are they ever going to live your life. It is you who knows what makes you happy. Whatever you think is right, is indeed right.

Life is too precious. Do not waste it on unsolicited advice and unwanted people!

Beautiful Sunday

Life does surprise us in more than one way. Sometimes, it inspire us to look beyond the obvious..to find reason to happenings of life.

I got up early than usual today. I had a bad sleep last night and for some reason, was feeling disturbed. Rishi was sleeping. I didn't want to wake him up with my thoughts. It was such a pleasant sight to see him sleeping peacefully :)

Fresh air was what I needed so I went to our back side balcony. And I noticed my jasmine plant. Just two days back, I saw this plant withering because of cold weather. I am very fond of this plant because of its beautiful white flowers, but since it was almost dead, I thought of planting some other plant at its place.

Winters in Delhi is lovely but is harsh to the plants.

But today I saw the same almost withered plant blossoming with new, fresh green leaves. I am posting its pictures.

Another one :)

Nature gives you all your answers. It gives you its dose of positivity, a reason to see life when you feel lifeless.

I was in my thoughts when I saw Rishi looking at me smilingly and giving me what I needed that time- a little hug and the morning tea (and my favourite Aliva biscuits!)

Sitting on my jhoola, with November winter just setting in, a cup of tea in my hand, peace in my head and typing on my laptop as I gaze at my plants, I think this is the perfect start for a beautiful Sunday! I am still smiling and finding it hard to wipe the grin off my face.

Difference between U & ME

We both together
Yet so different.
Both made mistakes
How are yours different from mine?

I let you go
Yet am not free
You, left me
And took a part of me

We both together
Yet so different
Both acted differently
How is my crime bigger than yours?

I hated the situation
Yet care when it matters
You didn't care
Because you hated the situation.

We both together
Yet so different
Both are living
How is your smile different from mine?

Behind my smile
Is a pain that you can't see
Behind your smile
Is your own reason, that I could never see.

Thursday Challenge Part 1

Life is all about challenges. May be not. But there is some thrill that I get from challenges. So, I have thought of giving myself a challenge. Let's call it- THE THURSDAY CHALLENGE.

In this Thursday Challenge, every Thursday, till next four Thursdays, I will share one secret of mine with you guys. Let's say any secret. It's like, for four weeks, every Thursday, I will share one thing, which is not known to many people (even to the close people!)

Let's start the fun :))))

I have been driving for past seven years now. And I am very proud of my driving skills. In fact, I detest when people say, girls are bad drivers. If you still don't agree with me,click here

But my secret is not this. My secret is, no matter how cool I drive, I dread parallel parking. This is one place where I falter badly :( I have tried zillion times to learn parallel parking. My husband, brother, even driver tried to teach me parallel parking, but I really can't. I can not gauge how much space is left between two cars for my car to just slide in between.

Sometimes, I want to leave early from office, not to reach home early. But because if the parking in the society is packed, I will have to go through the same trauma and embarrassment!

Hope one day, I will learn the correct technique of parallel parking. Till then, life and car will be driven in all gears except the reverse one ;)

PS- Next Thursday, another secret :)

Positivity Spell

Do you believe in blessings that you knowingly and sometimes unknowingly get? Or, do you believe in curses?

Why I am asking this is because- in my life, I have seen many tough times. I have received severe blows, from life and people, both. But there is something that I still carry with me- my positivity. It gives me the reason to live and I consider myself fortunate to have this gift.

Some might call it luck or destiny, but I believe, and that too firmly, that good wishes of people do play a large part in shaping our lives.

When someone sincerely sends you love and good wishes whole- heartedly, it is the positive energy that you receive. This positive energy gives you good thoughts and strength to face any adverse condition of life.

I have seen, over the years, that by nature I am very sensitive (people close to me will vouch for that!). I do care about people, and a lot of things. I have some many faults too. I am moody, short- tempered and over-demanding from my closest people.

But despite all that, I am grateful for all the love that I receive. I am also very grateful for the countless blessings and good wishes.

So, this post is to send you guys lots of love and positive vibes.

I hope you let go whatever is troubling you and you find peace in whatever you do.

And no matter, how hard this time is, remember you are loved.

PS- Positivity works!

Another Wish

Silent words in their own language
Tear every single thought
Everyday like death
And every sight like re-birth.
I say, I am strong
You see, I am so not.
Just need that one little hug
Consequences be damned
That one little hug, and I crash in your arms.

Memories in a bottle

Memories that are washed ashore
Unseen, snatched glimpses
Of what could have been.
Had you felt my pain
And seen my suffering
Thing, for sure
Different it would have been.
I put it all in a bottle
And throw it somewhere in the
Sea, It's gone and I wait no more
But, I am yet not free.

Gift of Love

A lovely poem is what I want to give you
But words have left me
They flew away
And I am left watching.

A tight hug is what I want to give you
But my arms are frozen
Just like those feelings
That I wonder why am I seeking.

So I decide to go to my shell
Weave a blanket on my thoughts
In the warmth of your love
I rest my aching heart, and give you a lovely poem and a tight hug!

ACT NOW

The last post was on accepting things you CAN NOT change. Lest it is misunderstood, want to clarify there are certain things worth trying till the end. I have done the same number of times. There have been moments of pain and suffering, where I have felt it is not going anywhere. But, at that moment, the effort was totally worth for. So even if things did not work out the way I wanted them to, I don't carry regrets.

There are some dreams worth fighting for. Close your eyes and think of your deepest desire. Now answer-

  • How badly do you want it?
  •  How willing are you to put in your efforts, time, emotions and practice?
  •  Are you prepared to fail?
  • If you fail once, are you prepared to get up, dust yourself and walk on again in case you fall flat on your face?
These are hard questions. There are no easy answers. But if your answer is YES, VERY BADLY to these questions, then you must ACT. Then you must march forward. Remember, you LIVE only once. If a dream is worth trying, try. Try as hard as you can.

Keep the faith high.

May success and happiness be yours.

Things You CAN'T Change

I read these lines sometime back. I liked it so much that it was my facebook status sometime back-

God, grant me the serenity
To accept the things I cannot change;
Courage to change the things I can;
And wisdom to know the difference.

There are certain things you desperately want to remain forever. There are moments when you really want to say Statue to time, hoping things and people remain just the way they are.

Over years, I have accepted few harsh realities of life. This acceptance was not easy, but for sure have made me a happier person. I do have my moments of angst, but have understood the ferris wheel of life. Few things that I have accepted are-

  • Just because something is important to you, does not mean it is important for others. They sometimes, fail to understand why is it so important to you.
  • No matter how much you plan, your best laid plans can fail. It does not mean you were not good enough. Sometimes, there are no reasons to life's occurings.
  • Friendships do break. Even the ones that you thought would last for a lifetime.
  • It's a me-me world. A person's minor sneeze can be more important than your heart-ache.
  • People can stop talking to you without any reason. None from your perspective whichever way.
  • Sometimes, people do not reply to your mails or do not answer your calls, not because they did not get the mails or were busy. It is because they no longer want you in their lives.
  • Just because you do not want to get into unnecessary arguments, it is not the same for everybody. Some people just argue and fight because they want to.
These by no means, mean you give up easily and accept whatever life throws you. In my next post, I will write about why is it important to fight till the end (but only for things that are totally worth for!)

Lying

Almost all of us, at some point or the other have lied- to ourselves or to people around us. I have seen many a times I have white- lied to myself. But for some reason, that lie comes back in a negative form (karma, I guess) to me. I am happier when I face the truth and am able to take action on what I can act upon.

Some people will not tolerate such emotional honesty, in communication or in relationships. They would rather defend their disloyalty and dishonesty on the grounds that it might hurt others. Thus, having rationalised their phoniness into nobility, they settle for relationships which are superficial.

But why do people lie in relationships?

Is it not like making a fool of themselves?

The cruel answer is that it is the easy way out. Most of us want the path of least resistance. We want everything to come to us, without making any effort on our end. To put it straight, we are lazy. To utter the words of truth, it need courage. If we just sit and take the easy way, it would be unfair.

Another reason we lie is Fear. We are scared of change. We are scared of failure. We are scared of rejection. We are also scared of the unknown. Till the time we are not brave enough to face the reality, we shall keep lying.

But, having said that, I must also say this- if you are happy lying and being dishonest- who am I to object?!!?

To each their own!!

Whatever works for you :) If you are happy, may it stay that way. If not, may be it is time to think!

Promise

I promise I will be strong
No matter where I go
I promise I will not go wrong

I promise I will not let you down
You like my smile, so for you
I promise you will never see me frown.

I promise I will start living
Not for people, but for you
I promise from existing, I will start living.

I promise life will be what I will make it
Our lives are only ours
I promise won't let anyone ruin it.

What's in a haircut? Depends, who gave you that haircut!

Since childhood, I have unbent, uncoiled, unbowed straight hair. I don't remember how many times I have told people, No, I have not got it straightened or rebonded. They are naturally staright. The problem with such straight hair is that there is hardly any style that I can do. No matter how many chemicals or products I use, my hair always come back to what they love being- straight!

Like all girls (or should I say women, considering I am married ;)?), I too am very possessive of my hair. I ensure I go to the same parlour everytime for a haircut and  get it from the same guy. All right, what's the catch here?

I always go to Habib's for my haircut and few days back was again one of the routine trimming sessions. The guy who does my hair was on leave and the manager introduced me to this new guy who looked very enthusiastic and confident. My doubts were intact but after some convincing, I allowed him to use scissors on my hair.

To my horror, this new guy cut the hair shorter than what I told him. Ohhh no, he didn't know what crap he landed into. 'See, I told you..I only wanted you to trim my hair, not cut them so short.' All hell broke loose and the scene was quite chaotic. Since the manager was not around, I asked the guy to call him. Poor chap, went out and came back after few minutes. 'Sir is coming', he tells me. I gave him the look that almost killed him.

Next thing I see is a familiar face, asking very friendly, 'What happened?' Where have I seen him, he looks like.....like JAWED HABIB!! 'No, he can't be that. Why will he come here? To give me a hair cut? May be...may be the guy who cut my hair got so terrified that he called The Jawed Habib.
'What happened?'- the friendly face asked for the second time.

It was weird to ask someone- Are you Jawed Habib? And anyway, this guy ruined my hair. I am supposed to be upset and not star- struck. So I regained my anger, and told him the guy is apparently new and has cut my hair shorter than what I asked. Jawed Habib lookalike (or may be not) smiled and asked the guy to get a sheet. 'Don't worry. I will give you a fab cut'. I was pleased.

He starts the conversation- 'Your hair texture is very nice. Your forehead is broad. But not very broad. You should get streaks on your hair.' Next thing I see from the mirror is some teenagers clicking his picture. The manager came from nowhere and greeted him, asking, ' Sir, when did you come from Lucknow?' I wondered, why will the manager call him 'Sir'?  There was this middle aged lady sitting next to me. Very casually she asks him, 'Are you the same one whose picture is displayed outside?' I was all ears, if the man doing my hair is indeed Jawed Habib...He gave that same friendly smile and said, 'He is Jawed Habib. Hum toh unke shagird hai. Bas unke jaisa dikhna chahte hai.' My hopes shattered :(

Finally, the haircut was done. He gave me the smile and asked, 'Happy?' I nodded. After all, Jawed Habib (my heart breaks to say this but may be not) had cut my hair. And only mine, as I noticed (and I noticed for a long time) he kept the scissors after my haircut and was talking to the manager, while all other guys were at work.

May be, he indeed was a lookalike. But sometimes, life gives you moments to laugh at yourself. This was one such moment.

Silence

Silence, like a sheet of death
Covering fragile ego
High strung, slicing the life, this silence.

I wonder what they are doing
Your thoughts inside my head
Can I slice the silence, I ask myself.

But being afraid of what I find
I retreat to my shell
Covering the wounds, with this sheet of silence.

Inside the sheet I conceal myself
Scared to slice the silence now
Lest the bleeding does not stop this time.

LIVE TODAY

Life has its own way of living. When you think nothing is going your way, it doesn't fail to surprise you with its little happy ways. Other times, when you are all happy and perfectly satisfied with life, it hits you hard. At times, it hits you to hurt you. At times, it hits you just to have fun.

In our lifetime, we all have to face life's blows. And we are at times (most of the times) powerless to life's blows. If you survive life's blows, you emerge stronger than before (and that by any standards is not a small thing!). If you don't, you just cease to exist..it's hard to imagine, but is the harsh truth.

I am no exception to this rule of life. I have been shattered, totally broken, completely wrecked. It takes courage to write this- but have been betrayed. But today, I take strength from those incidents. I know everything happens for a reason, you just have to find one. I have found mine- I learnt about myself, my strengths and weaknesses. Today, I emerge stronger, happier and more peaceful and satisfied than ever before.

I value people who care for me and love me. Those who have walked away have their own wish to act the way they did.

Whatever you are going through, no matter how hard it seems right now, remember THIS TOO SHALL PASS. Life has a Ferris Wheel. The wheel does take its turns. Some of us are right up now and others are at bottom. But the wheel will turn and those at the bottom would go up and then come down again. This cycle will continue till it is time to go permanently.

While you are ALIVE, do something WORTHWHILE (this is such a good thought- my current facebook status too!). Do something that makes you happy, that you will remember when you are sad, that people will remember when you are gone. Liberate yourself from the pain. GO, FIND YOURSELF.

Pause what you are doing. Go to the window and look at the world outside. We are so insignificant in the larger picture.

Your presence or absence makes no difference except to your closed ones. Even then, after a while, they too forget.

So live while you are alive. Love till you are alive.

Live today. Love today.

May happiness and contentment be yours for today, from today.

The Tough Part

What is tough, I ask myself. I am strong and and nothing is tough for me, says my faith in myself. But there are few things which are tough like hell...

The tough part is to understand
Why truth rips the soul and heart
And the pain feels fresh everytime

The tough part is the hope
To be loved the same way
When the source of that is long dead

The tough part is to love
And not being loved
And be empty of that precious love

The tough part is to see the relationship die
Still be stuck to that
As if locked and trapped

The tough part is to understand
Nothing lasts forever
But still living, pretending it does.

Hope

'Move on'- she tells her heart
A faint smile and that last tear
The smile smiled and the tear rolled
Both promised, both moved.

A price that she paid
For the lesson that she learnt
Sometimes what goes
Never comes back.

What remains in her heart is
A smile that she was naive
A lesson that she was foolish
A promise that she will be wise.

Smile for tomorrow will be a new day
Learn the lesson from the mistakes
Promise that truth comes first
Love, live and laugh- for tomorrow is a new day.

Marriage: loss of freedom?

I read this line somewhere- 'One can grow in a relationship if it is free from jealousy and insecurity.' We all know that true love is unconditional. There is no place for jealousy or insecurity if it is true love. It holds more relevance for relationships of a lifetime, like marriage, where the commitment index is high.

But I know a friend who has given up on a superb corporate career because of her husband (I think he has a jealous streak). She says she has 'compromised' with life. She has put her dream in a box and has thrown the key away, only to live a 'happily ever after' life. There is this another friend who has stopped talking to almost all his female friends because of his insecure wife.

One of the worst things that one can do as a spouse is to restrict them from doing what brings them joy and also impose conditions on them, because of your own insecurities and jealousies. All this in the name of protecting your marriage/relationship/love/home.

A partner should never ever stop you from doing what you want to. I know people who badly want to do many things, but they don't do it, because their spouses don't like it or they don't share that interest. They live their lives exactly the way their spouses want. They give up things, sometimes even people that mean a lot to them, thinking that this will make their marriage a happy one!

After some time they become a shadow of what they used to be and they are not even sure of their needs any longer. They define themselves as somebody's mother, somebody's husband, somebody's wife etc. Agreed, all these roles are important. But beneath that relationship is an interesting person who used to be so much fun, an interesting person who was full of life. That fun person starts fading away. They exist in their 'happy', weary marriage, adjusting, compromising, pleasing parents, society and everyone else but themselves, just refusing to change.

My opinion on marriage and its implications on an individual's freedom are not sacrosanct. But as I enter the fourth year of a blissful married life, I want to share something that I read few days back:

Don't forget that you and your spouse are individuals first. Don't be so self-involved as to believe that you are the whole world for the other person. Nobody is that interesting. Don't get jealous and possessive if s/he wants to spend time by himself/herself or with people other than you. Marriage is a big event in your life, all right, but it isn't your life. Taking time off from stuff to adjust and adapt and all that is fine. But get back to your life at the end of it. Don't change your priorities overnight and so easily.

A truly successful marriage is one which gives you the freedom to do what you want, where you know that no matter what you do or where you go, home is where the heart is and heart is where your love is! It is that bond where you accept your partner's mistake, knowing that every human is bound to make mistakes and where love is supreme. I know, all you practical people will be saying it exists only in romantic novels. But trust me, I have seen ups and downs of a married life. I know!

You are as HAPPY as you WANT to :)))

All of us go through our share of trials and tribulations. We all have moments of ecstasy and anguish. When we look around in times of despair to see that there are people who are living in their hunky- dory worlds, we feel small. But that is not the case. Who knows what those seemingly happy people are going through? Or for that matter, at what cost have they achieved the seemingly happy persona that you are seeing?

The key is not to find non sad and non despair moments in life. But to FEEL the sadness and despair moments of life.

If you lose the sensation to feel the sadness, you will lose the sensation to feel the ecstasy also, whenever you will get it. DO NOT LOSE YOUR POWER TO FEEL THE PAIN. For it is this power that will give you the strength to overcome that pain.

Strength comes from within. Strength comes from the pain. One of my very good friends uploaded a nice message on facebook, which said- "No one will manufacture a lock without a key. Similarly God won't give problems without solutions."

From my own experiences, I can share some fool proof ways that can help you cheer up and lift your spirits high:

  • Surround yourself with what you love- whether its your family, friends, pets, a hobby, music or any other thing. Your home is your refuge.
  • Tell the people you love them, at every possible opportunity.
  • Forgive those who have hurt you, you might not get a second chance for that.
  • Laugh often. LIVE while you are alive
  • Keep only cheerful and positive friends around. At all cost, stay away from negative people. When you can not decide between positive and negative people, go by your instincts.
  • Keep learning new things- it could be anything. New shortcuts on your computer, fixing a fuse, making round chapattis, whatever it is, just keep learning.
  • Tears happen. Endure, grieve and move on.
  • Take frequent trips to places- shopping malls, markets, new cities and countries. But NEVER TAKE A GUILT TRIP.
  • Take care of your health. You will always feel better when you are healthy.
Try these 'tricks' without any risk. Life will be as beautiful as you will make it!

That Void

No, she never wanted to give up
But life gave her no other choice
Silently she looks up in the sky
Hoping for a shooting star between her sighs

Alas, luck ran out and so did happiness
He did not understand, nor did he care
Everything moved on, so did their lives
But a void remained, like that last tear in the eye

She smiles and laughs
She moves like a fresh breeze
Inside her heart she carries that pain
When she gave everything to him, but all in vain

Moments

Life is indeed made up of moments. Some pass as insignificant, infact unnoticed but silently contribute to our lifespan. Then there are some that cause deep pain, hurt and anguish. There are also moments which are worth re-living over and over.

Sometimes it takes only a moment to let a mindless thought come into existence. You said it in anger, frustation. You were irritated when you said it, and you did not mean it at all. Still, you deeply hurt the person to whom you said these words. What you uttered has done enough damage. It takes only a moment to aplogize, but it can take a lifetime to forget. Sometimes, even a lifetime is not enough.

Sometimes, it takes only a moment to say something nice. You might say it spontaneously. You might have meant it at that moment, but then forgotten about it. The recipient of your words will remember it for a long time. Because kindness is rare to find in the times we live, so usually it is not forgotten.

We all have our share of joy and sadness. I too had my moments of hurt and joy. The latter one always bring maddening laughter when I think of them. The former, I am just not able to forget. I am able to forgive people who have hurt me, just can not forget them. I have written earlier about why is it difficult to forget. Click here to read

Life is all about moments. I believe in the goodness of life. It is like karma. Whatever you do, comes back. Your goodness comes back and so does your negativity. The happiness of your life is directly proportionate to the happy moments you give to your loved ones. If this happens with me, it is a life well lived and when it is my time to go, I would have no regrets, saying my good-byes.

I am sharing a poem with you. It summarizes the code of happiness

To Have Succeeded

To laugh often and love much:
To win respect of intelligent people
And the affection of children;
To earn the approbation of honest critics
And endure the betrayal of false friends;
To appreciate beauty;
To find the best in others;
To give one's self;
To leave the world a little better,
Whether by a healthy child,
A garden patch,
Or redeemed social condition;
To have played and laughed with enthusiasm
And sung with exultation;
To know even one life has breathed easier
Because you have lived...
This is to have succeeded.
Ralph Waldo Emerson
